Daha Nidanam

Etiological factors of burning sensation
The heat produced by indiscriminate (violating the ideal procedure of alcoholic consumption as mentioned in the texts) consumption of alcoholic drinks gets associated with pitta and rakta (blood), reaches the skin and gets localized therein and produces a severe burning sensation. The treatment for burning sensation is similar to that of aggravated pitta (pitta mitigating treatments). (1)

Raktaja Daha

The rakta which has aggravated to severe proportions would spread all over the body and cause burning sensation. In this condition the person feels as if his body is being burnt by fire. Trshna Nirodhaja Daha

Burning Sensation caused by suppressing the thirst
By suppressing thirst (not drinking water even when thirsty) the water component (body fluids) of the body gets depleted. This increases teja (pitta, heat of the body). This heat produces burning sensation internally as well as externally (inside the body and on the surface of the body). The activity of the mind of the person gets reduced (causes unconsciousness or semi-conscious state) and he suffers from dryness of the throat, palate and lips. The person puts his tongue out of his mouth and experiences shaking of body parts (tremors, convulsions). These are the symptoms of trsna nirodhaja daha. (4-5)
