Chandrakanta is a type of Sphatika. It yields water if kept under Moon light. T is a compound of Sodium, Aluminium, Silica and Oxygen. Relative density is 2.5 and hardness is 6.

Grahya lakshanas – Unctuous, cold, yellow colour, clear, devoid of Grahadosha, which yields water on exposure to moon light is suitable for use.

Sheeta veerya, Unctuous, good for heart, relieves burning sensation, Pitta disorders such as Raktapitta.
