Studying to Become an Ayurveda Lifestyle Consultant / Ayurveda Practitioner
Different Ayurveda courses are available in Australia which cover a wide range of natural therapy subjects. The courses will allow you to get a good understanding of holistic health as well as the various treatments included in Ayurveda.

If you choose to pursue this area of study options available are Diploma of Ayurveda or Advanced Diploma of Ayurveda . Many course providers provide both distance and online courses allowing students to study at their own free time. After doing these course you can register with Australasian Association of Ayurveda (AAA) or Australasian Ayurvedic Practitioners Association (AAPA) as an Ayurvedic lifestyle consultant with Diploma of Ayurveda and  register as Ayurveda practitioner with Advanced Diploma in Ayurveda.

Australia immigration

You can register with Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA) if you have done course from ANTA approved institution.

Overseas Ayurvedic Practitioner

If you are an Ayurveda Practitioner from India then you don’t need to do any of this course. You can get registered with AAA or AAPA straight away but you have to be in Australia.

You need following documents
Certified copy of Academic Results
Certified copy of Registration certificate
Certified copy of Qualifications
Certified copy of passport-size photo
Certified copy of Senior (Level 2) First Aid Certificate
Certified copy of  Qualification assessment by Vetassess ( Qualification Assessing Authority in Australia )
Completed AAA membership form with 2 professional referees

After registration you will be a legal and authorized Ayurveda practitioner as you will  be able to get professional indemnity insurance to cover you for any mis-happenings during treatment.

As Australia is the only Western country where Ayurveda is recognized as a bonafide system of medicine , some of the private health funds cover Ayurveda treatments that means client can claim services offered by an Ayurveda Practitioner.

Australia

It is important to know that there are not many jobs as Ayurveda physician you might have to start from your home or join one of the Ayurvedic practice on casual basis to gain some experience how to work as Ayurveda physician in Australia.

Migration to Australia:
Most often the candidate needs IELTS or TOFEL exams with more than 7 band.
There is no direct migration at this stage, by registering with AAA or any other organisation, does not guarantee the entry.
The individual has to depend on the state migration policy.

Further information regarding migration can be got from
Skill assessment for migration and
Australian Government website for migration

    Dear Mr Rohit,
I do not know about any Ayurveda center which follows Gurukula system.
I also wonder what would you do after studying? For practicing Ayurveda, you need BAMS degree.

Hi, you have to approach each spa individually, by email, phone or directly seeking job.
They will basically want Panchakarma skills. So, if you lack it, then go and join any Panchakarma center as junior doctor for free and learn Panchakarma.
