It is used in treating
Kshaya – tuberculosis, chronic respiratory diseases wasting of muscles
Raktapitta – bleeding disorders like nasal bleeding, Ulcerative colitis and menorrhagia
Mutrakruchra – dysuria – difficulty in urination
It acts as an aphrodisiac.
It is administered in treating menorrhagia. It is also administered after abortion to check excessive bleeding.
It is a good nerve tonic, useful in neurological disorders
Useful in constipation and gastritis.
