Is Aloe vera helpful in such cases? Any side effects to watch for? Should it be consumed only under medical supervision? thank you.

Hi, Aloe Vera is good for balancing Pitta. Many use this as a vegetable for cooking. Unless if someone has a very severe bleeding disorder, the cooked aloevera can be taken by everyone.

Pittas have Tikshana agni. How can this agni be managed so as to not invite indigestion and consequently ama formation ? How can we fine tune it to have excellent digestion?

Hi, If the Agni has become corrupt due to excess Pitta, then Virechana is recommended.
If Pitta is just a little high and causing Teekshna agni, then herbs like raisins, pomegranate etc are recommended to calm down Pitta.

How is lotus and the other varieties that you have mentioned to be used to calm Pitta ? I guess Lotus has no fragrance and on the streets it is sold in the bud stage(not fully blossomed).
