Dear Mr Radhakrishhnan, You should take one table spoon Triphala powder after dinner to improve your bowel movements. IBS is a tough nut and you will need to find an expert Ayurvedic doctor to treat your critical ailment. Best of health!

If one makes this churna mixture at home with all the ingredients excluding the ‘black salt’, would it be okay for someone to take without adverse impact on blood pressure? Or may be there are some other home remedies too for reduction of gas that you’ll be writing about hopefully soon :).

If you exclude black salt, then it would not affect blood pressure. Heeng (Asa foetida) should be fried with ghee, before adding.
half a cup of Buttermilk, to it, add a pinch of asa foetida and black pepper and half a teaspoon of haritaki powder, mix and gulp at night. It is quite good for gas reduction.

Greeting Doctor I truly enjoy the taste of Hingvastak. I like putting it on different foods I eat. Is it a particular food hingvastak works best with and should the food be eaten before a main course or after. Americans suffer from indigestion often. If I could serve a particular food with it already in it that the family would like I won’t have to fight about the strange things they rather it instead of the wholesome food I cook.

Hi, Usually, with any type of food, Hingwashtak churna is consumed with the first bolus, or just before meals, with equal amount of ghee.

Namaste sir, I was on self bodybuilding program with pure vegetarian and natural diet, its recommended to consume 90 gms protein per day thus i had to force eat throughout, which caused persistent stomach bloating after a month, currently am taking hingvashtak 1/4 tsp 3 times daily n chitrakadi vati 1tab at night, endoscopy is normal n diagnosed as non ulcer dyspepsia, Allopathy didn’t work n amrithabindu didn’t work either as it isn’t gastritis, my guess. Pls suggest whether it’s the right way to go.
