Amavatari Kashayam Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side Effects

Amavatari kashayam is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine used in the treatment of Rheumatic Diseases. It is widely used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.

Composition
Each 10 ml contains
Tinospora cordifolia – Amruta
Asteracantha longifolia – Kokilaksha
Boerhaavia diffusa – Punarnava
Gmelina arborea
Aegle marmelos – Bael
Stereospermum suaveolens
Oroxylum indicum
Premna corymbosa
Solanum indicum
Aerva lenata
Desmodium gangeticum
Pseudarthria viscida
Tribulus terrestris

Mode of action

Tinospora cordifolia provides immuno-modulatory action
Asteracantha longifolia, Boerhaavi diffusa & Tribulus terrestris provide anti-inflammatory action.
The ten roots (Dasamoolam) help to prevent degenerative changes in the joints.

Is it good for spine hernias?
It can reduce pain, swelling and inflammation associated with lumbar and spinal spondylosis.

Dosage

10-15 ml with 45 ml boiled and cooled water twice daily before food.
50 ml diluted with 1 litre of water to be used for drinking in severe cases.

Presentation
200 ml bottle.

Side effects
There are no known side effects for this medicine, if used under doctor’s prescription, in a normal dose, for a limited period of time.
