Kashayam Tablets – innovative Speciality Products

Ever wondered how to get rid of those bitter-tasting kashayams? Switch over to kashayam tablets. Kashayam tablets are a result of long and painstaking research of AVN Ayurveda Formulations Private Limited.

What is kashayam: Kashayam is a liquid containing water-soluble principles of herbs. It is also called as herbal decoction or herbal tea. (herbal tea is prepared with mild heating for a short period of time, to be more specific).

Kashayam preparation

How to prepare kashayam?
The general method of preparation of kashayam is to take the required herbs. It is cut into small pieces, kept immersed in water for a short period of time, then the next morning it is added with 16 times of water and reduced to 1/4th or 1/8th by subjecting it to mild heat. After water reduction, it is taken out of the fire and it is to be consumed while it is mildly hot.

How kashaya tablet is prepared?
The Kashaya prepared in the above method is further concentrated and using some of the technologies, it is solidified to prepare kashaya tablets.

Here care is taken to solidify the entire mass under very controlled temperatures, otherwise, the herbs will lose the active medicinal components.

How much ml of kashayam is equal to one kashaya tablet –
The regular classical dosage of kashaya is 12 ml per time. 2 kashayam tablets is equal to one dose of kashaya . So, for any kashaya tablet, the usual daily dosage is two tablets two times a day, before food.

If you are taking kashayam, for any disease condition, can you switch over to kashayam tablet?
You can easily switch over to kashayam tablet.

Kashayam tablets benefits

Health Benefits of kashayam tablets over regular Kashaya:
All the market available kashayas have added preservatives. Whereas in kashayam tablets, the added preservative quantity is very minimal.

Usually, kashaya has a very bad taste, whereas it is easy to swallow kashayam tablets.

Kashayam tablets are very easy to carry. So that you will not be required to take bottled Kashaya wherever you go.

You may miss the dosage of kashaya, as it is a bit difficult to measure the exact dosage all the time, whereas kashayam tablets are very easy for dosage fixing. Just two tablets before food, two times a day.

Studies conducted

Is there any test or study conducted by AVN on kashayam tablet?

      Hi, both have similar ingredients.
But the amount of ghee in the tablet is less when compared to ghee.
For a high cholesterol guy, tablet is preferred.
For others, ghee is the best option. But some can not tolerate the bitter taste. For them, tablet can be given.

Hi, Dravya Guna Vijnana mentions –
Kwathasya madhyama matra pala maanaa prakeertitaa |
So, medium dose is 48 ml per day.
24 ml in the morning and 24 in evening.
The market available kashayams are concentrated. so, 12 ml of kashayam + 12 ml of water per dose.

However, the dose is also dependent upon the patient’s strength, age, level of Dosha imbalance etc.

You are right Kashaya in the natural form is much useful because the active principles level in it is more active.
It can be taken in tablet form when the patient cannot take it in the kashaya form pertaining to the palatibility of the drug.

      1. Kashayam – in liquid form gets absorbed faster due to the suspended active principles of the herb in the water medium.
      2. Freshly prepared Kashayam is totally microbe free due to the boiling process, whereas, kashayam tablet may get contaminated if handled carelessly.
