Ayurvedic Remedy For Common Cold And Allergy

Common cold and allergy attacks are commonly seen nowadays due to increased levels of pollution and depleted respiratory immune power.

There are a variety of herbs like pepper, ginger, Cinnamon, turmeric etc which are traditionally used in Ayurvedic practice since thousands of years in India. They are mild, safe and devoid of any side effects.

Some of the products containing the above-said herbs, which are used in cough and cold are –

Taleesapatra vatakam – 1/2 tablespoonful of granules after food morning and evening with hot water. Haridra Khanda (best for allergy) – method of taking is the same as above but with milk.

Vyoshadi vatakam dosage same as taleesapatra vatakam.

Koldoff tablets –  1-2 tablets two to three times a day.

If you are feeling feverish along with cold, then Amrutottaram Kashayam tablet (an excellent tablet, derived from water extract of natural anti-fever herbs like India Tinospora etc) one in the morning and one in the evening is helpful
Some daily habits to keep cold and cough at bay:

Pranayama and other breathing exercises Walking, Jogging, Drinking mildly hot water avoiding ice creams, junk food, colas, oil fried food items etc.
